The Community Sailing Foundation has changed lives through the sport of sailing and boating activities for children in the Mississippi Gulf Coast area.
The Mississippi Gulf Coast is a boating community, and yet so many of our children have never been exposed to or able to participate in sailing and boating due to financial and physical constraints. It is our vision to make sailing and boating opportunities available to any child in the Mississippi Gulf Coast area that has the desire to participate, regardless of financial status, race, gender, ethnicity, or other limiting socioeconomic factors.
The Foundation is proud of its ability to develop and fund programs promoting the sport of sailing for children of all ages and abilities on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Some of the ways we help:
- Funding scholarships to sailing camp for children in need
- Development, coaching and financial Support of high school sailing
- Increasing the availability of equipment and safety gear for these local sailing programs
- Support of competitive sailing at local and national levels. Many of the finest young sailors who call the Mississippi Gulf Coast home have received support from our Foundation.
Thanks to generous donors, our members, partners, and sponsors, and our hard-working volunteers, Foundation-supported programs instill self-confidence, independence and maturity in young people.
